Accessibility is not a feature here, it is the reason the camp exists. None of the following is provided on request — it is simply the standard.
Communication
- Everyone on the team signs — kitchen and medical staff included.
- More than half the team is deaf.
- Sessions supported in International Sign, Turkish Sign Language and ASL.
- Every announcement is shared both visually and in writing.
- Tactile sign language support for deafblind participants (with advance notice).
Safety
- Vibrating and strobe-light fire alarms in every bungalow.
- A vibrating alert wristband for every participant.
- A visual emergency drill run with everyone on day one.
- Medical staff on site 24/7 who sign.
- Visual wayfinding and high-contrast signage across the site.
Physical access
- Wheelchair-accessible bungalows, bathrooms and common areas (reserved on request).
- All main paths are step-free and ramped.
- Lower-difficulty alternatives for the trekking and kayaking activities.
- A quiet, low-stimulus rest room open at all times.
This website
- Built to WCAG 2.2 AA; text contrast is at least 4.5:1.
- Everything works by keyboard, with visible focus indicators.
- All videos are captioned; the introduction video includes sign language.
- Reduced motion (prefers-reduced-motion) is respected.
- The application form was tested with screen readers and works without JavaScript.
